In this presentation Fraser Gunn will present some of his amazing night-sky time-lapse animations, beautifully set to music.

He will also discuss his methods used for astrophotography.

Finally, Fraser will show some of his fantastic night sky still images and images of the environment and flora and fauna of the Mackenzie Basin.

Fraser Gunn comes from Southland, but has lived in the Mackenzie since 1999. He worked for Earth & Sky for several years, where he introduced the techniques of astrophotography to astro-tourists, and a few years later he established his own astro-photography business in Tekapo.

Fraser now lives in Fairlie and is employed as an observer at Mt John Observatory, working on research projects for the University of Canterbury astronomers.
