Background

Pierre received his PhD degree in physics from the EPFL, Lausanne Switzerland in 2005. His doctoral research dealt mainly with scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) of gold clusters deposited on a TiO2 surface. Such a system can show a high catalytic activity, in particular for carbon monoxide oxidation. Then he moved to New Zealand and worked at Telecom NZ.
