Background
During his study Pawel was involved in STM experiments carried out on HOPG using home build STM. His doctoral research dealt with carbon nanotubes deposited on HOPG and Au(111) investigated using UHV STM and AFM. He received his PhD degree in Physics from University of Lodz, Poland in 2003 and then stayed on at Lodz as an assistant professor before joining the team here at Canterbury. He continued his research in filed of nanomaterials extending the analytical techniques used by the XPS, UPS and AES. Pawel is also an author of software used to analyse STM/AFM as well as XPS/UPS/AES data.
Research Interests
- carbon materials (nanotubes, graphene, HOPG, SiC wires)
- electronic structure of metals and metallic clusters
- nanoparticles
- high temperature STM
