Effects of modulation constraints on Volumetric Arc Therapy plan quality and efficiency

Supervisor: Juergen Meyer

Profile

[Source: Elekta]

In 2010 Neil Campbell graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Technology (Hons) in Medical Physics and Imaging Technologies.

In the same year he began his MSc in Medical Physics at the University of Canterbury as part of the TEAP Medical Physics Registrar training programme he is also undertaking at Auckland Hospital.

Neil’s thesis project is aimed at investigating the effects of the degree of modulation of VMAT planning and how this affects the quality and efficiency of the delivered treatment. His work will help to improve our understanding of the limitations of this technique, allowing it to be used for the treatment of tumours where it will achieve the best clinical outcome.
