Calculator policy: Physics and Astronomy
The Department of Physics and Astronomy requires all calculators used in exams or tests to be of an approved type.
In order to be allowed into an exam or test any calculator must have been checked and bear an official sticker.
Times and places during semester (not available during study week) where you can have your calculator checked and get a sticker should be on your course Learn page, or are available from the Department office
Semester 1, 2013
Use of calculators in examinations
Calculators are not permitted unless the examiner has authorised their use and must be self-powered, without data storage facilities, noiseless and handheld. It is your responsibility to provide a suitable calculator and to have it checked prior to reporting for the exam/test.
Calculator checks for tests/exams requiring this will take place in Rutherford, Room 213a
each Wednesday from 12.45 - 1.15.
